I started snowbarding last year(2003) and I agree with Captin Cripple, you should just rent a snowbaord, get a lesson and try. If you don't like snowboarding , then you don't. If you do start snowboarding , you just got to keep with it and PRACTICE!! If you fall and leave because your just giving up that's not the right atitude. So you have to keep with it! I fall sometimes, not all the time and sometimes when I fall it really hurts. But I just don't sit there and whine to my friends or something like that, I just get right back up and keep going! to me that's what you gotta do!

Well I'm 15 and a freshman at Crystal Lake South. Definitely isnt bad getting outta middle school! Uhhh I play  basketball for my freshman team. I'm hoping to get into snowboarding cause a lot of my friends do it, but I just never have tried, maybe this is the year. Well thats all for now.

Okay well I just started thinking about snowboarding and I've never done it before. I have a lot of friends who snowboard but they just tell me horor stories lol. Anyone care to share stuff about if starting to snowboard at raging buffalo is a good thing or not. Or if I should buy my own board or if I should just try it out first and stuff like that. If you could send me an e-mail or IM me on aim sometime that would be great! Thanks!

Oh for sure, and also that you commit.  It angers me to see people ride once and never give it another shot.  You cant judge a book by the cover or in this case since you actually rode, the Introduction.  LOL

We have a great beginner package that will include lessons and rentals to get you going.  Its a nice teaser to see if you like it and the instructors are great, just an idea.

your best bet is to come rent a board to see if you even like the feeling. A really good day to come would be on a sunday morning. the best crews are working and this will not mean anything to anyone unless they ride sunday mornings..MCDUDE! yeah i know right? crazy. get that there beginer package. hey go to south high school too! crazy. don't know you. i do know snowboarding rocks....and you should always snowboard when your friends do...PEER PRESSURE ROCKS!

Yeah i think it would be best to buy a board, because beginning is tough and if u already have a board it will motavate u to keep going.  if u ever just c it laying there unused it will make u think it was a waste of money, anyway, raging buffalo is the place to start nice easy bunny hill, and if ur ready u can move on to the next hill with jumps

yo make sure u get ur own equipment but also make sure that u dont spend money on something u wont use later. Buy equipment at the end of the season like at SHred Shop sale. Then u can ride awesome stuff that will cost u as much as crappy stuff from like Sportsmart. Remeber that every one goes through the tough first days and everyone evetually learns how to board. U have to stick to it though.

yeah rent one or ride someone elses for the day and see if you like it. My g/f didn't think she would like it but i got her up n riding the first day and shes loved it ever since. Now she can't wait to go again and the season just started. She was hooked on that first time down the hill w/out falling no carving or anything yet but thats ok always time to learn lol.
