How big is the mountain? Do you guys go out west a lot since in IL?

It's not a mountain. It's a hillside ski area that was converted into an all snowboarding area about 13yrs ago. The set up is 2 center tow ropes w/various kickers, rails and boxes throughout. A real skatepark feel to it. The kids here are literally used to riding all day. Both up and down the hill so when they get out to big resorts they can hang with the locals for staying strapped in. Skills are sometimes hampered by lack of quallity terrain but, as with any area, they make the best of it and the standout riders do just that. Skiers are allowed with full gear this year, they were only allowed without poles in years past. Helmets are manditory. It's fun, especially for those of us who grew up riding there and can really see how lucky we were to have a place like this less than 5 minutes away from our front door. As for travel there's that group that goes when $ allows and there's that group that try's to do it cheap (90% of us HAHA!). Wisconsin is close and theres a few other local lifts to jib as well. Not quite like the coasts but we make due.
